Trinity Groves
Corner of Parvia and Bedford. All the surrounding lots have been bulldozed. Experimenting with posterization-based simplification.

Boothbay Harbor, Maine
Painted from a vacation snapshot. The near foreground was dissolved into quantum uncertainty rather than adhering to closeup detail. Private collection.

Trinity Groves
In the midst of the debacle of getting kicked out of Continental Gin Building along with 60 other artists, I thought I was going to be able to rent space in a tin shed across from this one. I was interested in the contrast between convulsive graffiti and the simplicity of the shed.

Enchanted Rock
The granite weathers gray but younger breaks are orange. Beautiful timeless central Texas landscape, but all the rock detail drove me crazy.

Barton Springs
From a Flickr photo of my favorite water park. I was interested in the contrast of sunlit water emerging from blackness. Private collection.

Old Orchard Beach, Maine
One of the first beaches on the interstate into Maine, always packed. I was interested in the flattened out tapestry of strong color on sand.

crossing Crowdus
From a blind snapshot as I drove down Elm St and pointed the camera out the window. Tried to capture the broiling July heat. Sold.

This location is about one block from my current studio. One my first paintings with a value underpainting. I always paint a value monochrome now, so this is the first painting of my current style. Sold.

Superstition mountains
Painted from a chance photo I saw on Instagram. Contacted the photographer/artist who wrote a contract and licensed the photo to me for $20. Enjoyed painting the sunset glow and envisioning Apache Junction as a tile-like abstraction. Sold.

near Crested Butte
After about a year of trial and error at larger paintings in my new studio, I think I'm
starting to figure out my version of how to make a painting. 60 x 90 cm.
